About CCA RAVEN BOYS WATER POLO
Head Coach Noah Tiu
Noah Tiu is a local retired water polo player who started his athletic career at the age of 11, playing for a handful of local club teams. Noah was a Junior Olympic champion for the 14u division and was named to the first ever Developmental National Team. Noah also played at Cathedral Catholic where he was a 4-year varsity player. During his high school career he helped his team win 4 CIF championships and was an All-County player his junior and senior years. Noah redshirted at the University of Pacific his freshman year of college but left and played a season at Long Beach Community College, where he helped his team get third in the State tournament. Noah returned home to San Diego to begin to pursue a career in coaching and education.
JV/Novice Coach YASHWIN MADAKAMUTIL
Yashwin is a CCA alumni, who graduated in 2021. During his time playing for CCA he was a 3 year varsity athlete. He helped CCA win their first CIF championship in 2018, as well as helped CCA reach their first open division berth the following year. Yashwin was a part of the coaching staff last season where, in tandem with Coach Noah and Mr. McConville he helped coach the boys to a D1 championship. Outside of waterpolo he is attending UCSD where he is majoring in Bioengineering: Bioinformatics.
Varsity Assistant Coach ROLAND YU
Roland is a CCA alumni, who graduated in 2015. He started swimming at the age of 5 before starting his water polo career with a local water polo club in Solana Beach at the age of 12. He then moved to Del Mar Water Polo Club when he was 14 where he played year-round outside of the high school season. At CCA, he won the first tournament in school history for the JV squad his freshmen year and spent the next 3 years on varsity. During his time on varsity, he won a coaches award, 2 MVP awards, a 1st-Team All-League, and a 1st-Team All-CIF. He then went on to play a year of polo at the George Washington University studying mechanical engineering. Outside of water polo, Roland works as an Enterprise Solutions Engineer in the tech industry. Roland also enjoys surfing, watching the NBA (Go Warriors!), and throwing the ball for his beautiful dog, Marley.
